I'd have to weigh in with "My Sweet Summer Suite" (Love Unlimited Orchestra - '76) and "Trammps Disco Theme" (1975). Those are some faves.
Figured I would pose this question while mine is playing:
Spring Rain - Silvetti
There are others that are up there but I would have to say that's the one that does it for me....brings back some great memories and whenever I hear it...it still makes me go "ahhhh" =]

"Black Water Gold" Prt.1&II- The Sunshine Band.
"Underwater" -Harry Tumann.
DISCO...that's where the happy people go....!!!
The Break by Kat Mandu.
Incidental music, driving NRGetic beats and tons of pots & pans.

Midnight powers - Dance, it's my life (instrumental) Importe/12 records
Dan Hartman - Vertigo / Relight my fire (suite)
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
Impossible to pick a "numero uno" from the bunch, since the music of Disco is why I love it so...
So, I'll run with the first one to come into my head:
"Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" by Sounds of Inner City
1976 West End Records
Even though, in my heart I know it's really:
"Je T'aime Moi Non Plus"
by The Munich Machine (featuring Donna Summer)
1977 Casablanca Record & Filmworks
"MUSIC IS AN EMOTION, SEARCHING FOR IT'S VOICE"

This one was a no-brainer for me...
(Theme from) Lady, Lady, Lady by the Boogie Man Orchestra (1975)
Soaring strings and a piano line that seems to stretch into infinity. Great in the original Boogie Man Records mix, even better in the extended RCA Canada promo mix.
Like Stephen, I'll go with the 1st one to pop into my mind.....
Malaguena by Walter Murphy - action, intrigue, horns, strings!Love this song:icon_cool:
I never heard it too much when it initially came out, in fact that LP was hard for me to track down, which is a shame 'cause most of the songs on it were pretty good IMO.

"The Problem is....Choice."
I'm going with "MAGIC BIRD OF FIRE" by The Salsoul Orchestra...such high -drama with the swooning strings & heralding horns...and still kinda funky with all the Latin percussion.
On the downlow tempo tip, I'll give Herb Alpert's"RISE" a shout-out. This epitomizes Sunday morning sleaze sessions at Trocadero... still dancing at 8:00 am on a Sunday morning in the steamy darkness of the club--when you could see flashes of bright Sunday morning sunlight through cracked-open exit doors...inside we were still dancing the night away in our own ceremonial "church," while outside in the sunlight, people were going to actual churches.
Ah, misty-colored memories.........:icon_exclaim:

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I have a gazillion but a memorable one for me will
always be The Glitter Band's "Makes You Blind"-
and if I could only capture one (of my most embarrasing)moments in time,it would be for
everyone here to see the bitchy look I got from the
sales guy at "Record Reaction" on Highland in Hollywood when I asked for this great new instrumental track called "French Fries"
Thom
(Because, over all the years, I'd heard every contorted title request you could imagine, I say...)
Thanks for the laugh, Thommy.:icon_lol:
If I were the salesguy, that would've been a priceless moment for me.
I know it's off-topic (so shoot me...), but can you fill-in the blanks?
(these are all for-real requests!)::icon_eek:

I'll take a stab at this one. When I worked at Aloha, The Tauntress, a fellow employee, told a tale of someone asking for a tune they thought might be titled "Bicycle Pump"...so I'm guesin' we may be on the same trail here...Bicycle Parts____________
song wanted?
"MY SIMPLE HEART" by The Three Degrees
"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
I'll guess "Hot Leather" by The Passengers..."let's get ready, everybody's heavy...gonna take a ride to the sun"Everybody's Heavy________
I might think some version of "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore"??? or is that too easy? :icon_rolleyes::icon_eek:The Suds Ain't Gonna Shine-Up The Floors_________________![]()
