...ya gotta beat the street......
Yes.
Baiser was a studio creation by DJ turned producer Francois L'Herbier.L'Herbier was,for a brief moment,Montreal disco diva Carolyne Bernier's boyfriend in 1979.
The original mix was done by L'Herbier who was also involved with another act on Celsius Records,Voggue [Dancing the night away / Love Buzz].

Yuppers... I have the Celsius 12" from Canada. I'm at work, but I believe my copy has a cover that's plain white, with blue(?) pinstripes all across both sides. No writing at all. Just the stripes. And the Celsius catalogue number in a corner.
Kris? Am I mistaking the cover for one on a different Celsius release?
Through some clicking, I just discovered it was released in the US, on MALACO.

I love "Summer Breeze", what a wonderful piece of music. They had a follow-up as well, entitled "Darling Forever" also on the Celsius label. This is more of a laid back up-tempo song, and just as sweet as "Summer Breeze"
My UK 12" is on Malaco via PRT (used to be PYE) & it has a slightly odd picture cover of a silouetted man with a walking stick & a huge setting sun & a cottage in the distance! (where's the smily icon for confused/puzzled gone?!:icon_question:) I must admit if I didn't already know what a fab track this was I would never have bought it on the strength of that sleeve!![]()

Thanx bucky, I had to describe it as I'm so computer-illiterate!![]()

Celsius was a very small label and only released a few disco records.
They were distributed by a huge corporation called Trans Canada Musique.
I remember Celsius having their own design jackets featuring an Iron-Man inspired bird/action hero.
The label also went on to release Village People's Sex over the phone 12in and New York City Lp in Canada.

:icon_sad: None of my Celsius 12" singles had that cool cover. <sigh> Just plain white jackets.
And... Ooh! Oooh!! Ooooh!!!
The 'HARLOW' L.P., "Taking Off"!!!An absolute treasure!
Too bad GRAF Records saw fit to take out the male vocals, belting "TAKE OFF", during the long intro build, for the US release.
Also, I was fortunate enough to buy the Celsius release of VOGGUE's "Love Buzz". (It was mine & my b/f Joey's song...) Although Ritchie Rivera did do an amazing job of editing the mix for the Atlantic Records/US release, so the bpms remain consistant during the intro, break and fade-out... The original mix, by Daigle & L'Herbier, really is more beautiful, as a true follow-up to "Dancin' The Night Away". (Even if trying to overlay it was a suicide attempt, waiting to happen.):icon_rolleyes:
It's obvious that LePage wasn't involved in the follow-up production, though. The drummer was all-over-the-place, with the bpms.:icon_eek: And, with a 6/8 tempo...you HAVE to be locked-on, for it to be mixable. Wherein "Dancin' The Night Away", was just about perfect in the steady bpms.

I absolutely love the Harlow Lp !!! :icon_biggrin:
And here the original version of Love Buzz is the only one that ever got airplay...despite its flaws.I only got the Voggue Lp on Celsius. I wonder which version they put on the Lp.
I prefer Love Buzz to Dancing the night away ; I can't quite put my finger on it.I was so happy when Voggue came out with a follow-up that sounded a lot like their previous hit.
This small leather club I go to in Montreal has their disco night on Sunday nights and they recently renovated and turned the 2nd floor into this lounge with latin music....no one came.
Now it's back to disco at Stud 54 :icon_lol: and we are dancing to all the classics in a wonderful new surrounding. The DJ always :icon_evil: play Love Buzz/Diana Ross' Chain Reaction and Madonna's True Blue as a suite.
Unimaginative DJ but it is fun to hear these classics in a club even in 2008.
