    Best From Artist 34 Tavares

No, I didn't change subject header to be cute in 2003. I forgot what number I left off at and I couldn't find it when I searched for it here.
Anyway to start 2003 is Tavares. I like "Bad Times", "Love Uprising" and "Never Had A Love Like This Before." My top choice though is "Don't Take Away The Music."

My favourite by the Tavares was always their rendition of Hall&Oates 'She's Gone', followed by 'It Only Takes A Minute' and the 1985 Ben Liebrand remix of 'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel'.

I'd go for the Liebrand remix too.
Also, I still like "More Than A Woman".

I'm definitely down with 'Bad Times', that's probably my number one, along with 'Positive Forces', 'Whodunnit', 1981's 'Love Line', 'Don't Take Away The Music' and 'It Only Takes A Minute'...though Take That's vastly superior soul-destroyer damns their lame original to eternal shame!!!! :o :D

I also like the Leon Sylvers produced Solar-ish "I Really Miss You Baby" from 82. What LP is "Bad Times" on?

    Paul,

I went back and found where you left off and updated your subject line and also included the artist name in it as well.

My fave Tavares track... "Don't Take Away the Music."

I believe you did Alec Costandinos. If you click on your profile, you can then see all the posts you have made. Good to see you posting again.

    Welcom back Tall Paul!!!!

Well, my absolute fave from Tavares is:

    1) "Don't Take Away The Music" (I voted for it on my last Top 25 list). Such a great record and it works soooo well with that other FAVE of mine "This Will Be A Night To Remember" by the estimable Eddie Holman. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

    2) "Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel"
    3) "It Only Takes A Minute"
    4) "More Than A Woman"
    5) "Never Had a Love Like This Before"

Remember one of those Tavares brothers was married to Lola Falana--I think it was "Butch"!!!!
    "Lost inside adorable illusion...."

    Tavares

    My choices are
    1- ONE TELEPHONE CALL AWAY
2 - STRAIGHT FROM YOUR HEART
3 - THE GHOST OF LOVE
    4 - MADAM BUTTERFLY
    5 - IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE
    6 - MORE THAN A WOMAN
(their version is far better than the bee gee's)

I forgot how good that 1985 Ben Liebrand remix of 'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel' is. Good one.

My favorite Tavares song is "Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel". I also think their version of "More Than A Woman" is much better than the Bee Gees version, which is ironic since the Bee Gees wrote the song.

'Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel' is one of those tracks from the 70's that blew me away & captured my heart the second I heard it on the radio; others being 'I Feel Love', 'Loves Theme' & 'Hes The Greatest Dancer'. Is it just that I was at an impressionable age or did music have the power to really move you emotionally back then compared to more recent music?

Outsider, I agree about their version of 'More Than a Woman' being much better than the Bee Gees' version. Yvonne Elliman's version of 'If I Cant Have You' was also much better than the Bee Gees' version (this wasn't included on the SNF soundtrack thank goodness.)
