    The Esquires did disco ....

    *****

It took them 10 years after forming as a group while in High School in Milwaukee , but in 1967 patience paid off as The Esquires gained national fame with this #11 Billboard Hot 100 charting song:

    The Esquires GET ON UP

    .

.....With all those lines about getting up and about various dances , with that continuous bongo driving the song along ... with a 70's title like "GET ON UP" !!!! ..... one might wonder if this 60's dance song might years later become a good candidate for a disco remake ???....

Cool research, remicks . .. so The Esquires join the list of artists such as Frankie Avalon, Percy Faith, Bobby Hebb, Ethel Merman, Bobby Rydell, Irma Thomas and Andy Williams who re-recorded their former hits as disco cuts. Guess they had to stay "relevant" in the ever-changing music market of the mid-70s and jump on that bandwagon. I'm glad they did
