    More Wally MacDonald 7

    Hey guys,
I'm back. Just upgraded to windows XP and been spending the last week trying to get everything running. Unfortunately when backing up my hard drive I forgot to backup my folder with all the mystery tunes in it. So please bear with me if I post one or two that have already been posted before. The next four mystery tunes are off two masters that weren't done at the club where Wally worked at. The first three songs were made for the Richmond Street Baths here in Toronto in the early to mid eighties and has a variety of music styles on it. The fourth is I think a answer song to "Forget Me Nots .

    1. Cover version of the Shangra-las "Give Him A Great Big Kiss" (not Tracy Ulman)

    2. Cover version of "Warm California Sun (not the Ramones)

    3. Parody of Peggy Lee's "Fever" most likely entitled "Tumour" This one I asked about before but I"m trying again.

    4. Alomst identical to the song "Forget Me Nots" but the lyrics in this version is " love you not"

you can hear these samples at my home page:

    Yetta,

#4 is a dub/instrumental of "Knock Me Out" by Gary's Gang.

Don't know who did the others.

I think I might have found the answer to mystery song #1
"Give HIm A Great Big Kiss". Someone on the CFNY site
suggested that the group is called True Confessions from Canada and through a search on Google I found a reference to
them on a Disconet compilation. Disconet Volume 3 program 7
side B, named Valapucc'is Permanent Wave Medely. Side A is Donna Summer I Feel Love/I Feel Megalove a Patrick Cowley mega mix. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a copy

I was looking at the track listing for that Disconet set and it also includes a song by Gilda Radner called "Let's Talk Dirty To The Animals"

I never knew Gilda did disco.

    Nrgbeat,

I was suprised too about Gilda. I have that song on a album somewhere in my collection and it's not disco but a live performance. Maybe someone at disconet remixed it. Now I really have to get my hands on this record just to hear what they did to Gilda.

    Yetta,

I'm listening to "The Best Of Lollipop Records" CD and all of a sudden, out of the blue.... I found your new wave "California Sun" remake.

It's by Johnny Rock; produced by Jurgen Korduletsch (Mr. Claudja Barry)

    Marky,
That's amazing, I had given up on that one. I believe with that info that completes another playlist. Thanks a millionhttp://discomusic.com/forum/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif
