I'm biased toward Felipe Rose - The Indian. Can't not vote for an old friend. :) Besides... he looked so good :D .

I really hate Village People. I can only stand listening to about two minutes of YMCA before it gives me a headache.

However, I was very surprised to learn that 80's R&B singer Miles Jaye has been a member of the group. Definetely the most talented of them all, he must have been. I dunno when he was a member or what outfit he used to wear but
He really could sing...and made three solo albums from 87-1991too. They'll probably have most interest for soul music fans. The music's very far away from Village People.

It seems that straight people don't have their word to say in this topic :)

So let me ask another question :

Who is the sexiest female disco or 80's singer for U ?
My heart forces me to answer Candi Staton ....

Female singers of today: Tamia, Jamelia and Ashanti (HOT HOTHOT!!!

K-Bee, Beyonce Knowles is for me hotter than Ashanti . Did U see her in the late Austin Powers? ( which is one of the worse movies ever ...)

Shania Twain is absolutely wonderful too, and the model Carla Bruni has just issued an album in french last year, so I consider her as a singer: Wow

    (Hello!) :D

Not the most 'PC' topic to post my first message on, but Donna Summer and Chaka Khan did it for me...naughty!

No votes for the poor Cowboy or the Soilder then? I hope thet don't see this! Seems everyone likes the contruction workers helmet! Shame the Police man didn't have a truction!

I'm straight, but I've still got a lot of time for the Village People - one of the most memorable images in disco. Though most of there material is very poppy, they are still very strong distinctive songs. Also, the track "Fire Island" is pretty funky in parts.

If I was gonna choose something from the opposite sex, it would be a 3 some with Two Tons of Fun!

I'd have to say that I'd vote for original cowboy Randy Jones... however, I should add that in interviews he comes across as being nelly factor 9!

High nelly factor gives me the horn too.

Forrrce, I'm neither in a phone box or a closet - I'm in my lounge - wearing a nice red frock!

And then , let's not forget:

Captain Oveur: You ever been in a cockpit before?
Joey: No sir, I've never been up in a plane before.
Captain Oveur: You ever seen a grown man naked?

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Captain Oveur: Joey, have you ever been to a Turkish prison?

Why is that :-? ? Leatherman only asked who is your favorite Village People? Not who is the 'sexiest' or the 'hottest'. Those were personal additions by us posters. Either you have a fave or you don't. Simple.

    BTW --- Hustlebaby is straight.

So let me ask another question :

Who is the sexiest female disco or 80's singer for U ?
My heart forces me to answer Candi Staton ....
And should I now assume you think we gays (men) can not speak on sexy females? Uh, let's see...

TEENA MARIE; STEPHANIE MILLS; ANGELA BOFIL; PATRICE RUSHEN; MELBA MOORE; ANGELA WINBUSH; SUZY Q; BRANDI WELLS; EVELYN KING; SYRETTA; PHYLLIS HYMAN 8) ; DONNA SUMMER; JANICE McCLAIN 8) ; MELI'SA MORGAN; ANDREA TRUE; SYBIL; TAANA GARDNER; GRACE JONES; VICKI SUE ROBINSON; CORY DAYE; CARRIE LUCAS; GLORIA ESTEFAN; NICOLE; VALERIE SIMPSON; MADLEEN KANE; VENUS DODSON.

Should I do 'the groups' :o ? Sorry to be "on edge", Com King, but if you guys had nothing to say, it was self-imposed. We members went through a lengthy discussion last year asking if some felt excluded by certain topics. The question was asked because no one wanted to exclude anyone. That discussion ended on a high positive and I, personally, would like to see it remain there. If you were being facetious then I'm howling at the moon for no reason. So, like I said before, apologies offered in advance.

But Nicky baby.....isn't the incongruity of this thread that is was posed by a "straight" man????

No offense, Mr. Leatherman....but I can't get over a breeder's incongruous interest in the Village People.

Now I always liked the Leatherman best (maybe it was the red hanky???) But then again, I was "born sleazy" according to Quinnique (thanks Steely Dan). Randy Jones (Nelly #9 aka Cowboy) was the best-looking; David Hodo (construction worker), the most charismatic, i.e. SLEAZY.

Oh, nevermind, I'm just yanking yer straight chain. :P

Hey, speaking of the Village People, has anybody gotten an e-mail from Randy Jones? Everyone probably has, for this site is probably where he got my e-mail address. It was interesting. Here's the address for those who don't have it.
    vpcowboy1@yahoo.com
It's a Randy Jones World mailing list. Not sure if you'ld be interested.

Anyone remember the later stuff from the mid 80's when they had gone more electro pop? There was the crass but catchy "Sex over the phone" (lyrically, actually quite ahead of it's time I suppose) and a dreadfull slow New Romantic effort called (I think) "5 o'clock in the morning" - that has a very funny video with paticularly silly costumes.

I remember a song "New York City" which wasn't all that bad. Unfortunately for me my 12" copy had some type of high-frequency flaw on the vocal side so I could only play the instrumental.
