    Equalizing problem

    Hello everyone!
    I know this may not be the right place to ask , but i need help!!!
    I have this .mp3 file :
    MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service
    It's a part of an interview i cut...What i need to do is to retrieve the background sound without having her talking above it...i think it's possible through equalizing but im not expert at all :/

    I don't see any link to download...

    but anyway, EQ usually won't help cut background noise...

    I've listened to the audio clip.

    I believe the intent is to "extract" the voice and leave the background music away.

    The way the recording was made makes it impossible to achieve this task.

    There is one thing that could be done but in this case it would still not provide a satisfying result.

    It is called a "noise gate". It's an audio effect that would clip to "silence" any sound that is below a user-adjustable sound level.

    It would not be much useful with this clip since the music program is almost constantly in background and it is there at various levels.

    Some expensive software programs, especially designed for law agencies in forensics do exist.
    The program can discriminate foreground sound mixed with background noise to some extent, but is is always to the detriment of sound quality.

    Audibles artifacts are created during the "discriminating" process and the result is not usually "pleasant" to hear.
