    LIME Redux

OK, I'm no fan of the vocal stylings of Denis & Denyse LePage--aka LIME

To me they were godawful...the songs were catchy and full of hooks--BUT THE VOCALS SUCKED!!!!!!!!!! :icon_twisted::icon_twisted::icon_twisted:

So I propose we select a new pair of singers to re-record the vocals and make LIME safe for human ears... I've put little to no thought into this...but I'll start by proposing

    JOE COCKER & DENIECE WILLIAMS...

    (throaty growl + piercing soprano)

    Your ideas??????

It's an American dog food company....sorry I forget we grew up on different continents. :icon_redface::icon_rolleyes::icon_exclaim:

And since Denyse sounds like a yippie Chihuahua with a lit firecracker up her butt or "bit"--[No I never get tired of using that one!!! :icon_razz::icon_razz::icon_razz:]--- maybe the dog food analogy is apt.

That description is a good one but I rather think Denyse sounds more like my cat when she's on heat!:icon_lol: Maybe if Denyse was put out for the night & partied with those alley cats she'd come back sounding more like Millie Jackson?:icon_confused:

    Re: LIME Redux

It's funny you should bring this up because I was listening to Lime 3 today. Remember how we used to get people coming here and asking "I'm trying to find out the name of this group from the 80s, I can't remember any of their song titles or lyrics, but they had these really distinctive voices that was almost like screaming..."

...and we'd quickly all chime in with "Must be Lime!"

Anyway, my suggestion would be Lemmy from Motorhead and Mariah Carey.

Indeed I do, Graham!!! That's what I told needlefingers yesterday about all the trash that went down about LIME here a few years back.

Well, you certainly got this thread up and going fast. Who knew so many of you thought the voices of LIME were LEMONS?

    But I'll play.

    Jack Klugman and Yoko Ono.

    Re: LIME Redux

One thing I find very interesting about Lime is that people seem to either love them or loathe them, with there being no middle ground whatsoever.

As bad as those vocals are, they sound like nobody else, and their fans seem to really like them. You can't deny that the synth riffs and sequences are very catchy.

I love putting on something like "Babe, We're Gonna Love Tonight" and watching people's reactions, especially when Denyse starts. :) One friend of mine stood frozen in horror, finally managing to stammer our "My God.... she's horrible!"

    Biz Marky & Shakira

Now THAT would make Denis & Denyse LePage sound like Frank & Nancy Sinatra.
