Sorry, I have no clue on this one.Originally Written by mikkelbreiler
This is the delicious Marlena Shaw from her 1975 Blue Note album, Who is This Bitch, Anyway? What you're listening to is the intro to the song Street Walkin' Woman. This dialogue is so hot they even gave it its own title "You, Me & Ethel". I've always loved this and laugh everytime I hear it. The guy is sooo lame and she is sooo bored  . It actually runs 3:17 seconds with her leaving him on the street with, "I'm tired, you're tired, and you're $25.00 is tireder than both of us." The song itself is not a dance/disco piece but Marlena in pure jazz form.19830607-01_G05B01.mp3
Opening a radioshow, not with music though, this is a hot dialogue between ... ehm a presumably yound man and woman, who may never have met before but discuss the arrangement of spending at short amount of the immediate future together in a suitable comfy setting.
This is not music, but we do not know who made it or what it is called. A short description of this would be 'a pick-up' or even shorter: 'scoring'. This is not the only non musical part of these radioshows, but it is the longest one. This one sounds to be from a vinyl source, is this a long intro to some hot hit of the day?
What I'm hearing is the bootleg remix of Love Is The Message by MFSB. This one has more sound effects than usual so I don't know if it's another bootleg or just the radio jock doing overlays.19830623-01_G10B01.mp3
The start of another radioshow this one is not mentioned by the host. Actually none of the songs used in this show are mentioned at all.
This one is pissing me off :x ! It's the instrumental b-side of something I have and can't remember. I've used it on tapes several times so if no one here remembers I'll have to dig. (God I hate searching these 12"s.) :(19830623-03_G10B03.mp3
In fact a little later on in the same show is another puzzle. I like this one, yet it is so elusive I cannot buy it on a record as I do not know what it is. It comes off sounding like a dub or instrumental to me.
You're right, it is The Beepers, Theme from Blue Thunder. MCA Records 12" Dance Version, # 13966. It has a 'long' 8:45 a-side and a 'short' 3:35 b-side.19840213-10_G08B09.mp3
This one is quite possibly The Beepers dance version of the Blue Thunder Theme (written by Arthur Rubinstein). It sounds like a (synth doing a) helicopter (impression) in the beginning and then the Blue Thunder theme comes up and gives it away.
