Two questions regarding a song name and availability of a cd

Hello, I would like to know who sings a song and where I can buy it. Back in the 70's/80's there was a song I think was called "Love Bug" I don't know who sang it but some of the lyrics said "Love bug, I've been bitten by the Love Bug"
I think a girl sang it. Would anyone know who did and where I can get a copy of it?

My next question is does anyone know if the gruop "Menage" who sang "Memory", "At this moment" and a couple other songs have a compulation cd available?

I believe Unidisc has a Bumblebee Unlimited compilation out with this track on it. However, it is a needle-drop with plenty of surface noise and distortion.

The lyrics, "Love bug, I've been bitten by the love bug" are from Tina Charles' Love Bug/Sweets for My Sweet medley. The song is on her Greatest Hits (Import) CD:

Thank you all for responding so fast to my question on the song "Love Bug" Now I am a little confused , Is the person who sings it Tina Charles or is it Bumblebee Unlimited? I wish I could go to some site where there would be a sample of it hear.

The group, Bumblebee Unlimited, had a hit with a song titled Love Bug in 1976. The catch line is, "I'M A LOVE BUG, I'LL STING YOU WITH MY LOVE." The voices are put through something  to make them sound like annoying little insects along with a whining organ to make it just that more irritating. (Sorry, I didn't really care for this novelty.)

Tina Charles, a solo artist, had a track on her 1977 Heart 'N Soul album titled Love Bug/Sweets for My Sweet. The catch line is: "LOVE BUG, I'VE BEEN BITTEN BY THE LOVE BUG". This Love Bug was written by Biddu and merged with the Drifters rock'n'roll hit, "Sweets... ". This was pure Euro-disco (for those of us in America) with swirling strings, 4/4 beats and lots of girls in the background. The song took on an old rock'n'roll flavor during the second half because of the Drifters' 60's song. It flows back into Love Bug, exiting again with strings everywhere.

As I was typing this up for you I played both versions. NOWHERE does Bumblebee Unlimited utter the words you're looking for.

Hope all this is helpful. I don't think you're going to find a sound sample.

There's no magic device that changes the vocals here; this "trick" is pretty low-tech and dates back to Alvin & The Chipmunks. First, the instruments are recorded on the multitrack. Then the tape is slowed down when the vocals are recorded. When played back at normal speed, the instruments are at normal pitch, but the vocals are pitched way up.

I too found this to be a highly annoying gimmick, so I have never really listened to that Bumblebee Unlimited CD -- which is why I never clued in that this isn't the song in question. :) I also can't figure out why these records are so sought-after; I guess it's the cult of anything on Red Greg. Some of the BU tracks have very groovy instrumentation, but the sped-up vocals completely ruin it for me.

    LOVE BUG

Love Bug by Bumble Bee Unlimited is available on a CD compilation in its entirety. I bought this disc about 2 years ago but can't remember the name of the Disc. The name is something like the worlds best disco music vol. _?, there were about 10 volumes to this set. I have made an MP3 out of it, if you want me to post it somewhere let me know where.

Question to anyone, I have heard that the lead singer of Bumble bee unlimited was Tina Charles, is this correct?
