This was a big story in our newspapers 2day. It seems that the number 1 selling book in the US is the "Obama Nation". According to our press it's a very low attack on Obama, based on lies and rumors (I'm not going to publish 'em here).

Are they starting to kick under the belt? Is it serious journalism? Is it an attempt to destroy his reputation. Who's really behind it?

It's gonna be #1 on the New York Times list because the right wing think tanks buy it in bulk [just like they do the Ann Coultergeist crap, etc.] so they can claim they have a #1 bestseller on the New York Times list and then get publicity and entre' to TV shows a'la' Larry King where this ******* "author" Jerome Corsi got his fatass kicked by Paul Waldman of Media Matters last night.

Then the rightwing think tanks give the book away or sell it cheap for $5 on their right wing nutjub websites. Hey, it's a small price to pay to buy the presidency and gain all that access it gives them.

I just wish our side had just a tiny bit of their ruthlessness.
Here's an example. You may have heard of liberal talk radio host Mike Malloy. A couple years back he went ballistic when the dems failed to filibuster Alito. Anyway, he mentioned how we(liberals/progressive) picket and protest with millions and seemingly accomplish nothing.
The rightwing repubs don't have to do that though. They've got their machine in place so all they have to do is send out a few talking points to all wingnut talk host and the next thing you know it's a friggin' lead story in places like the New York Times!

Don't I know it.! In fact, I'm listening to Mike Malloy right now. Boy, does he depress me!!! He's been on this we might as well let John McSame get it this time kick all week. Basically thinks Obama won't be able to do anything but be a corporatist shill--says he's lobbied up with the same goons as McSame. This really pissed off his listeners!!!

Matt Taibbi in Rolling Stone says pretty much the same thing. I'm expecting the worst. The Dems could blow this again.

I haven't totally given up...but it is like "Groundhog Day" all over again. The same old ****....I'm thinking we could get shafted once more. Then I become an Independent and vote for candidates [Kucinich for example] who have no chance because it really doesn't matter anyway.

I'm a big Malloy fan. As a long, long, long time liberal, he's bummed out by what Obama is doing/saying with regards to FISA, off-shore drilling, Iran war talk, etc. I guess you probably knew that already.
I'm kinda torn too. I know we've gotta a man whose half black which means I should vote for him :icon_smile: but I'm a hard core liberal.
If he wins, and once the euphoria wears off, is he gonna do a Pelosi and just be an ordinary politician? :icon_question:

NO! Although, after a few days, the U.S. is fully backin' Georgia now, they will NOT be engaged in a war against Russia! But if the U.S. continues to build up the Rocket-shield in Poland and other Eastern-European countries, close to the border of Russia,...they will get an answer from Putin. An answer that they will not like!
