New-ish disco track: Estelle

Have you heard the new disco track by Estelle feat Kanye West called "American Boy?" Seems to be taking the world by storm and trying to crack the US market (currently #27). There are some club remixes to it but I like the original much better. So disco-sounding. Extends of the original would be better to play than the club mixes IMO.

I love her voice and the feel of the track but why oh why does there have to be a rapper always involved?

And I agree that an extended mix would work best...these remixers who re-interpret a good song so it can safely fit into a dj's set is getting really annoying.

Agree, it's quite a disco sounding track but ruined by the rapping.

I love this song too. A lot of music is coming out in uptempo "dance" beat lately. Ne-yo and Rhianna are leaving the hip hop sound and the original releases of their latest songs are in "dance-beat" mode. Usually very primative, till the remix comes along, but it feels like a change in the air.Change is good!
