Phil Spector Arrested for Murder???!!!!

I just heard in the elevator in our building that legendary record producer/songwriter Phil Spector (the Ronettes, The Crystals, Darlene Love, Tina Turner, the Beatles!!!) was arrested for killing someone!!!

My favorite Spector story was told by the Ramones in some career-retelling just before Joey's death. Of course, they were amazed to have the possibility to work with Phil (they are bubblegum & soul fanatics). Of course, the guy was this paranoid wacko with guns, etc. One morning, as a wink, one of them -don't remember which one- went to the studio with a Ronnie Spector T-shirt, like "hey Phil, look, I'm a fan". But he didn't know Phil is quite jealous with his wife. When Mr. Spector appeared, he went out of his mind and ordered the Ramone to take off his shirt. His repeated screaming consisted in:
"TAKE MY WIFE OFF YOUR CHEST!!!"

Phil Spector is reputed to be a TRUE WACKO, even by Hollywood standards. Brandishing guns has been part of his past m.o. I think he pulled one on The Ramones at some point.

Anyway, some woman was shot at his house around 5:00am on Monday morning. There was a black Mercedes with a door open in his driveway. That's all the police are saying.

Well, now we know that the dead girl was an "actress" named Lana Clarkson. They keep saying she was a "B" movie actress...but uh, let's face it..her credits are definitively "D" list. Apparently, the acting thing wasn't panning out as she had just taken a "hostess" job at The House Of Blues" where she met Spector after a Rob Halford (the gay former-frontman of Judas Priest) concert.

She went home with the diminuitive Spector and ended up in a pool of blood in his marble foyer. Did she diss his moves? Did she laugh at his organ? Was she heading for the front door? Did Phil recently see "Chicago" and give her the Fred ("she had it coming") Caseley treatment??? Stay tuned.

Spector is out on a $1 million bond. Ah, yes the rich & famous are just like you and I!!!!! That's sarcasm, kidz. :roll:

Well,

first of all, I'm a huge fan of Spector 60's music, so the news are really sad. O f course he was/is a total freak - even he's music shows that he's not your regular guy. Only a crazy man could produce pop music with such intensity and drama. Anyway, the whole story about Spector and the actress sounds like a new version of SUNSET BOULEVARD. Norma Desmond rides again!
