'84 or '85 Mix from...Disconet?? Starts with Opus "Live is Life"...

So yeah, basically this medley starts with Opus, then mixes to Shout from Tears for Fears.
    It also includes:
    Dare Me - Pointer Sisters
Hang on to your love - Sade
One Night in Bangkok - Murray Head
    Loverboy - Billy Ocean
Easy Lover - Bailey and Collins
View To a Kill - Duran Duran
    (more songs)
Ends with "Dress you up" & "Material Girl" - Madonna

About 13 minutes long. I heard it from a french station in Canada. In the province of Quebec to be exact on CKTF. They called it a supermix. A year end mix thing. I'm pretty sure it wasn't created by the radio station.

Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. I've been close to finding it on the net, but always failed. I would forever be thankful!!!!!:icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin::icon_big grin::icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:

I don't think this mix has ever been published onto a physical media.

It would be a real chance for you to put your hand on a radio capture of that mix.

I might have a partial copy (with voice over ) somewhere in my archives.

To the best of my knowledge, the credits of this mix goes to one of the featured D.J. from the daily dance music show at CKMF Montreal.

I thought so....the dj at CKMF (thank you for the radio station btw) were great back then. I got into medleys like those because of them.

I was sure I saw it available on record. But I guess I must search harder for a complete copy. I had it taped, and being an idiot, I erased it:icon_redface:. Now I'm kicking myself.

If there is some way I can get a copy of it, even though it's partial and voiced over, I'd really appreciate it. If you know where I can d/l it, even if they charge a fee, I'd still grab it.

Thank you very much Marcus for your help!!!!!!!! I'm not as informative as you, but hopefully I can return the favor.

    Hi monkeyfeet,

I've searched about a minute in the discogs database and I find this:

Various - The Ultimix Medley Collection

I think this is the mix that you want... here you can order a copy in CD format:

    http://www.ultimix.com/

    and listen here: http://www.zshare.net/audio/2380731a4bf557/

    All the best ;)

Wow! Thanks for all the help guys! Great forum here!

Unfortunately I know this medley and it is not the one I was looking for. It's close, but it wasn't from Ultimix. But I DO love Ultimix and Mixx-It. I do my own version of these medleys every year....well I TRY to. Some parts are great...some parts....:icon_confused:

I appreciate the effort elektro and cantire!!!

Do you have any CKMF Super Mixes in your collection? I have been looking for mp3's of them for years. I used to pick up CKMF/Montreal from where I lived in upstate NY.

Even though it was a French radio station, they had a VERY fine radio format going up until about 1989 or so. The station introduced me to 12" mixes, supermixes, early hip-hop, house etc...It was most definitely a very "Montreal"-sounding radio station.

If anybody has any vintage CKMF available, let me know if you'd like to arrange a trade!
