I just discovered a record I never knew existed and 2 of my favorites: Phyllis Hyman & Tom Moulton were, respectively, the artist and the mixer. The song is titled "Leavin' The Good Life Behind".

The tune is on a compilation titled "One On One" by Phyllis on the Hip-O label. This CD has the first 3 solo efforts Phyllis recorded and the rest are collaborations with artist's such as Norman Connors, The Four Tops, Joe Sample, Lonnie Liston Smith, and 2 duets from her Broadway show "Sophisticated Ladies". Alas, no McCoy Tyner ("In Search Of My Heart") is included.

The first solo single Phyllis recorded was a dance tune "Leavin' The Good Life Behind" on Private Stock records from 1975, mixed by Tom Moulton and originally released on a 45 with the long version (5:06) on one side and the radio edit on the other. It's a good one (gospelly back-up vocals and heavenly strings arranged by Bert Keyes of The Moments' "Love On A Two-Way Street") and the long version is on the CD. The liner notes say the song came and went with a wimper.
