Great station, I agree with you 100%. A friend of mine went in NYC in 1980 and brought back in Italy a tape recorded at 92KTU. It was amazing, right now sometimes I'm still listening at this tape. I've got some broadcasting hold by Rosko.

In 1996 I went in NYC and was looking for 92 KTU: I was listening to it all the day...!!

    What's now with it?

I'm from Germany. I have a few CD-Rs with "Paco's Supermix" from 1983/84, is this from KTU?

Another question. Rosko is this the singer of "Desiderata" (Prelude Records 1980)?

    Thanks,

    Steffen

    Steffen,

    Yes, to both.

I can still remember listening to Paco's mixes each day at around 4pm. He would feature many DJs such as ? "The Animal" Diaz and others. Great stuff even if he had to cut it short for commercials

Paco can now be heard on a Spanish language station called "La Mega" her in New York spinning Salsa.

Paco and Rasco were great, I admit; but Frankie Crocker was "thee DJ". He was king and thanks to him Disco came out to all from underground.

Sorry Rasco, but Crocker was King.

I am a fanatic Prelude fan, but Rosko's "Desiderata" is the worst record that this great label produced!!!!

The radio station 92 WKTU has moved to 103.5

FM with Brooklyn's own Joe Causi spinning the best of all types of disco (from funk - european). Joe plays all the classics every sunday night from 6pm - 9pm. I wished that he had more airplay because 3 hours isn't enough.

    Yes,

Bernie already answered... Paco did the Supermix I think from 1981 - 1984. Awesome stuff. Shame I did'nt have the brains to tape it back then. Rosko, Frankie Crocker and Tony Humphries also kicked serious butt!!

WBLS which is still 107.5 in the BIG APPLE had some killer mixes back in the day as well

Remember, 92 KTU and Paco's Panties

Just a tid-bit of his promo from back in the days. The mastermixes were hot back then with the likes of Aldo Marin and the Latin Rascals.

98.7 KISS-FM Mastermixes provided daily and weekend highlights by Tony Humphries, Shep Pettibone and the Latin Rascals.

WBLS 107.5 with Jonathan Fearing and Sergio Munzabai (RIP) and Ted Currier produced mastermixes that were a joy to listen.

I so glad that Joe Causi made yours truly part of history as a Celebrated DJ on the KTU Studio 54 Clubhouse.
