.. back in '79 I purchased the 12" version of Mouzon's Electric Band "Everybody get down" .. running at just 3 minutes & 30 seconds, it must be one of the shortest disco records from this late 70s period .. until now I had assumed this was the only version that existed .. only now (almost 30 years on) I've discovered their 1979 album titled "Baby come back" which has an extended 4 minute & 30 second version of "Everybody get down" ..

The author has stated the running time on the white label 12" to be 4 minutes & 32 seconds .. but if you look at the accompanying uploaded picture, the running time on the label clearly states the length is 3 minutes & 32 seconds ..
Yeah, a cool album.
I bought a copy of it last year, and it seems that it was only pressed/printed in Germany. It pops up at online stores any now & then.
Also wonder if the album came first and the single on the US-based Vanguard-label came afterwards.
Here's the extended single-version :

Another project which he produced during those years :
(... sounds a little like Taste of Honey's "Boogie Oogie Oogie" , lol )

.. ah yes .. thanks .. now I see .. there must have been 2 different 12" pressings .. the initial white label promo version was only 3 minutes & 32 seconds .. but the comercial pressing features the extended 4 minute & 32 second album mix ..
You're welcome Ashley![]()
The promo white label is 4:32, the same as the commercially released 12" on which they corrected the time. they just have the wrong timing on the label, and the BPM is also wrong, NEVER trust BPM's that a record company states on their label, they are usually off by about 4 beats per minute. Unless you count for an entire minute, you'll be off. BITD alot of DJ's would count the BPM's for only 15 or 30 seconds, and then multiply. if you used the 15 second count you could be off by 4 beats, the 30 second count probably 2 beats off.
I so agree,TDK.I almost never got the same BPM's as the BPM's printed on record labels...for the most grievous errors, check the BPM's listed for the tracks on the "Thank God It's Friday" LP!!!!! Especially the D.C. LaRue track..........waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off!!!

A 5'37" version is what I found! :icon_eek:
Wow ... good find Canadiantire !
I wonder where that comes from, since there's the mention of "demo only" in the clip.
