    Those 3 Degrees

We know these lovely ladies covered "Maybe" by The Chantels, "You're The One" by Little Sister and "Distant Lover" by Marvin Gaye.

Tell me who covered their "When Will I See You Again" in pure disco style?

Could it be The Boystown Gang?

Well maybe BoysTown gang did a version of it, but the most popular version I know was by Magda Layna (In the book "Tribal Rites" she's described as a housewife anxious to break the routine and ruthlessly realize her dream to be part of the "disco world"), her voice in my opinion can be definied as a "bad musical nightmare" and I mean a really "bad" one!
The track was produced by Bill Motley (of BoysTown Gang fame) and it was printed in 1983 on Megatone Records (Why, oh why?????)
But is one of this song covered by loads, Tina Charles, Erasure did it among the others and lately even U2 in their "Elevation Tour"

    Ah Pecs,

We totally agree on this one!!!!

I always thought Magda Layna must have had a connection to Columbian drug cartel. Why else would Moby Dick waste vinyl pressing her vanity project record ...if she wasn't supplying Moby Dick with their, uh.... party favors? Yeah , I said it. :P

Aloha got a huge shipment of this "dog" record and they sat on the shelves til we closed, as I recall.

I don't know who Nicky is going for here. But Miss Layna did it, Boystown Gang did it on their "Rich And Famous" LP and later, my fave cover-- The Dream Girls in the early 1990s.
The latter is on one of those "Gay Happening" CDs. Nice job, Dream Girls, whoever you are/were.

 I actually was thinking of the horrendous Magda Layna. I bumped into it on the shelf and remembered --- good song desparately searching for a singer :( . I didn't know about Boystown Gang and I'm trying to remember the Dreamgirls version.

You guys are still on top of things , so to speak.

I hope that someone of you sent an E-mail to Ms Layna at the "NeverWasADiscoStar....But I tried It" Retirement Home,
I believe she NEVER had so much coverage in one page!!!!
And about Moby Dick's staff Party Favours, Marky, are you talking about Double Cream Cakes? Cause I heard they were making a dangerous use of them!!We all know that abuse of sweets can be extremely hazardous, can destroy families and even DODGY Record Labels!!!!!!!

Surely she upped the overall kudos of the label?
    Just kidding........maybe,
but seriously, if you all agree that this record was canine with a capital 'C' I'm glad I've never heard it and never will. Any others you could help me avoid?
