It's "The Disco Spaceship" by Laurie Marshall.
I taped this off of a show years ago that played old clips from some 70s dance show and mixed in videos from the 70s and 80s.
I haven't been able to figure out what this track is. I think I have other pieces of it on other VHS tapes, but I happened to come across this today. I hope it's enough. Sounds like German disco, like the same guys who played on tracks by Roberta Kelly (is it her?), Silver Convention, etc.... I've bought quite a number of those German LPs, but haven't come across this yet:
German Disco?
If it's not enough, I can try looking around for more pieces of the recording. No credit is given to any of the tracks in those old 70s clips.
Thanks in advance!

Awesome Graham! Thanks for the ID.
Looks like someone had uploaded it on youtube (nice track):

Man this thing is really expensive and hard to find. But then I thought I'd take a stab in the dark and try iTunes. I found it!!! In fact they have both vocal and instrumental mixes! Under the name 'Laurice'. Just type in Disco Spaceship and it comes up.
Thanks again Graham for the ID!

I'm pretty good at remembering records I've come across hunting around the shops, and I don't remember ever seeing this one. I guess it's in high demand and didn't get much pressing. Funny I thought it was German. It still kind of sounds like those guys.
I just noticed the cover art on for the music, which was also pressed on CD, indicates the following:
Laurice - Canada's Former #1 Dance Vocalist. Dance Dance Dance. His Greatest Hits Plus Unreleased Smash Material.
I emphasized the 'His'. I don't think it was a misprint. The name change from Laura to Laurice perhaps indicates this person had a sex change since recording the songs?!!!
I found his website:
