What was the first New Wave record you ever bought?

My first purchase from the New Wave era was: California Dreamin' from The Mama's & The Papa's.

...more seriously, these were the days where the money was rare for me and I think my very first N-W purchase was: Lene Lovitch - Lucky Number.


At the time, I also shared Dayna's opinion about the fact that New Wave (as good as it was) has eclipsed for a while, the "danceable" club music.

Mine was "Spandau Ballet : To cut a long story short" probably together with "Fade to grey" by Visage. I remember going shopping in Via Torino in Milan to get that fancy white shirt and a very garish
silk scarf to wear around my waist.
