Hey Dudes ,,
Been quite a long time since i been around .
Ok I will let you all in on a little secret .
A killer funk LP from the late 70's !!
7 tracks in all and a winner from start to finish .
The Lp kicks of with >> Get Ready For the Future , a Brass Construction like function groove which smoulders beautifully from start to finish .
#2 "Love is Free" is a bluesier slower number which kicks major butt !! oozes quality this cut ! very nice lyrics & vocals backed by the laidback jazz-funk chorus that grooves & rides leaving me wanting more
#3 "Get on Up & Do It" ,, The boys crank it up on this one ! definately dancefloor focused funk and it certainly hits the spot !
#4 "Eternal Revenue" .. My favorite !! a killer slab of funk thats just as good if not better than other heavy stuff released by other major Funk groups ,, Its the heaviest meanest cut on the Lp but I still think its dancefloor freindly enuff to rock hard ,, Huge bass + pumped up horns & some killer breaks & solo's that leave me wondering why these guys didn't get many more Lp's released .
#5 "Hey You" a merrier uptempo cut thats easy to listen to catchy & worth spinning under the mirror ball .
#6 "Havin An Affair with the Blues" .. not really digging to deep into the sad type blues as the title suggests but like #5 its uptempo & nice .
#7 "Music" .. Another killer cut !! highly recomended by me afroboy ,, Its slow bluesy & very funky , like #2 its crosses genres & grooves till it finishes >> 4 minutes of bliss with some brilliant soloing , if only these dudes had whole sides to mess around on like the CTI dudes had , the musical landscape would have been a richer place .
*******************************************
A 9/10 LP in my book and its the only Lp I know from this mob .
For me this was just as good as the baddest funk Lp's of 78 and better than many released by the majors players in 1978 .
It never got the props it deserved ,, I tried for years back in the late 70's & early 80's to get a copy without luck .
If anyone has anymore info , opinions or a scan of the back of the cover & Lp label please let it be known .
** LISTEN & BE AMAZED AT ONE OF 1978 SLEEPERS !!

if you find one... let me know. I like it here also... :icon_cool:
There is an Ariola U.S. 12" of "Get Ready For The Future", the futurisitc break is extended, otherwise pretty much the same as the LP version. Not too hard to find, but sometimes goes for big bucks.
I agree, Great LP as well!
