As requested in ABSM.disco - I thought this would have been easy.

I have a song going through my head

mid-late 70's slow funky groove. (not disco BPM's)

    female vocalists

    lyrics go something like ..

all in all <something> with the lovin'
all in all <something> with the kissin'

I had a suspicion that this was Pointer Sisters, or LaBelle, or Chaka
Khan, but nothing I can find validates this. (but it's that style)

    Internet lyrics searching reveals nothing.

<something> sounds like "catchin" (catch you?)
"all in all' is sung by background
    the response by female lead
this is just the chorus, btw

Could it be this by any chance? It's not a female singing, but a falsetto backing vocalist.

sounds like On & On by Gladys Knight & the Pips (1974) -- one of their funkier tunes from their 1973-75 heyday on Buddah, once they had left Motown.

here's the link to you-tube: she gets to the chorus I think you reference above at about 1:20 of the 9 minute concert clip. Enjoy !!!
