Well Vince Aletti, used to complain that he was knee deep at times each week with new releases....![]()
It surely is an absurd question, but I just wonder how many 12'' records for disco were released back in the days, say, 1975-1989 ? Or else how many 12 inches were released annually in the peak year 1978 or 79 ? For I have checked out disco tunes for years but feel like it's infinite... Totally 100,000, 200,000 or more ?

I can't remember where I found it, somewhere on the net, but I have a list at home which is at least 20 pages long of supposedly every single disco song released between the early 70's right up today. (I think I only printed up to around 1985.) I suppose I could scan it as a PDF and post it on the site if there was interested in this.
I have used this website a few times...Disco Savvy: Quality Disco Music Albums - dance 1970s 1980s house 80's
Another reference which might add a bit to the overview of releases :
Black-Music Label Catalogues / Black-Music Database
Sorry to be late to respond, but I have found the URLs above very informative and will check them up in detail later. Thanks! ...By the way, as might be expected, it seems so huge number of records were released back then and a little overwhelming:icon_eek:![]()
