I've been searching for this song for a couple of years now.
I heard it on a disco radio show, I think?
What I remember:
a female vocalist singing a light-hearted, almost bubblegum quality song, with the lyrics "hap-hap-happy" repeated multiple times.
It made me laugh!
For some reason, I had the sense from the deejay that this was a disco "oldie," but I can't find it anywhere! It seems like the title should be "Happy," but I'm not having much luck searching on that.
Does this trigger anything for anybody? I'd sure appreciate putting this mystery to rest. (Besides, I want to play the song for my niece. ;-D)
THANKS in advance for any help.
Thank you for suggesting this -- I'm listening to the "radio mix" of it right now.... and That's Not It. :-(
While this is a good song, the one I remember was real "bubblegum" sounding (I don't know how else to describe it). Maybe it's a truly golden oldie....? ;-)
I'd sure appreciate additional suggestions -- I'm astonished at how close you got with this one. Certainly it fits all the criteria I named. So close, yet so far!
Possibly "Makin' Happy" by Crystal Waters? It was a huge hit around 1992.
