The End OF The Bee Gees????

I heard today that the Bee Gees will no longer exist now that Maurice has died. Barry & Robin will continue to perform, but only under their own names: Barry & Robin Gibb.

There are no more brothers to add to the act.

Apparently the Gibb boys don't wanna add faux brothers or sundry relatives to keep the group intact, as the Pointer Sisters have done. Baby June has been given her walking papers (due to her crackhead problems) and Bonnie doesn't wanna rejoin the act she abandoned for that solo career in the late seventies.

Too bad, cause the Pointers were so much fun back in the day.

Is it that Bonnie doesn't want to rejoin or is it that Ruth and Anita don't want her back in the group? I thought it was the latter, especially with the latest press that Bonnie and June were touring for awhile last year as the Pointer Sisters, which technically they are. I heard lawsuits were filed to stop that!

I recall seeing Bonnie on a talk show a few years back. She certainly did not seem like she was operating with a full deck! Plus, don't forget why she was removed from Motown Records. Something to do with her and a boyfriend threatening a certain Berry Gordy. I wonder if the new book that Nicky mentioned (and which I keep forgetting to buy whenever I'm at Borders) on Motown Records mentions anything about that incident?

Keefe, you are probably right regarding Ruth & Anita not wanting Bonnie back in the group. Do they speak to her? I don't really know how deep the rift between them is or was.

I did read that June missed so many performances when they were touring in "Ain't Misbehavin'" that they felt they had to do something. I didn't know they had started performing with a faux sisters /relatives/whatever.
