I just want to check in with our Australian mates and see how they're doing. FunkyDude? Discohunter? How are you guys and your families? We've all seen the horrific fires in Canberra on the TV so holler at us and let us know what's up.

FunkyDude: Last year I remember you telling us it was kind of rough over there --- too hot and dry. Give us a yell so we know Discomusic's Number One Australian "Soul Brother" is OK. :D

Over where I live which is near Wollongong we're pretty much alright as there's only been a couple of fires up the mountain which have been successfully put out.

As for Discohunter whom lives in Adelaide in South Australia, I haven't heard of any fires over there so I reckon he's alright.

The bushfires in Canberra are bloody disasterous, I've heard that something 400 homes were burnt and four people died. And there are fires north of Victoria too.

In my area we've had some rain a couple of days ago which really helped cool things off a little and yesterday was cloudy. Today has been pretty hot. But inland CRIKEY it's been above 40 degrees celsius (104 degrees farenheit)!!!!! One of my mates who lives in a small town somewhere inland of Victoria says that it's been 43 degrees celsius (109.4 degrees farenheit), BLOODY OATH THAT'S HOT :evil: !!!

It's been pretty much like this last Summer, bushfires everywhere, except last year we were pretty much under threat.

All I can do is hope that it pisses down rain all over Australia.

Good to hear you and yours are OK. Truthfully, my geographic knowledge of Australia is 'zip' but I do realize it's a damn good-sized continent. So, Discohunter is in South Australia. You're in Wollongong, which is --- where? And where is Canberra? Maybe I should just look at a freaking map. :lol:

Tell you what you could do. Come over here and take some of this cold weather. :x It's been between 10 and 16 degrees (Farenheit) for days now. Almost two weeks. Single numbers at night. New York City has ice breakers on the northern end of the Hudson River. That rarely happens. It's been COLD!

Hi everyone,

I'm fine, thankyou for asking. Thankfully, we haven't had any fires here so far (Touch wood), but it has been HOT. Yesterday was our hottest day in 21 years. It reached 44 degrees celcius. (that's 111 F)

Let's make a deal, the folks in the US can send a little bit of coolness this way and we'll send you some warm weather!
