See what happens when you leave for a few months...

This is a disgrace! What up with that top 500? I didn't know we could only vote for Donna Summer in the top 10... And the first record produced by my beloved Jacques Fred Petrus comes in at 100?!!!??? It sure was better when I still had a finger in the pie!

Just kidding, but boy, have those positions changed since the first installment!

By the way, hello everybody old and new! From Düsseldorf, Germany for the time being until we move on to Berlin later this spring. Any good vinyl shopping addresses in either of these locations are very welcome.

(As I type, I am listening to 'You stepped into my life' by Melba Moore as a tribute to Maurice Gibb.)

Hey Maarten! You're back!! I was just about to send out an APB for ya! :)

Can you please send me a quick e-mail at my primus.ca address?

BTW, the reason why Donna scored so high is that a Donna Summer fan site referred their visitors to the poll...

    Welcome back fella!!!

While you were travelling from Japan to Germany (by bycicle I suppose) we again discovered rare Jacques Fred Petrus productions: three unreleased groups on the italian Goody Goody label, six obscure BB&Q singles issued on TK, West End, Casablanca, Salsoul, Prelude and Polydor and a couple of incredible collaborations JFP-James Brown & JFP-Giorgio Moroder!!!!

Have you been experimenting again with items from your own medicine cabinet??? Or have you been to Amsterdam recently? :P

A record fair in Düsseldorf is on sunday, Feb 9th in WBZ behind the Central station. (www.rero.de for other dates).
The record shops in cologne are better than in Düsseldorf.
-Soul Tower, Luxemburger str. 8 ,50674 cologne.
-Music gallery, Richard Wagner str. 38, 50674 cologne.
These two have 70/80's Funk/Soul/Disco, sometimes expensive.
-Groove attack, Maastrichter str. 49, 50672 cologne:
Nujazz, Hip Hop, reissues of Dance Classics.
There are also many shops in the Ritterstr. near SATURN-Megastore at Hansaring S-Bahn station.
Düsseldorf's Record shops are more in the House/ Progressive/Techno area.
Enterprise CD shop (Oststr.125, 40210 Düsseldorf) has a vinyl corner on the 1st floor, but no special funk/disco area.
    Mostly pop/rock.
Bustin\' lights all around me ..

    Danke schoen...

Martinus - thank you so much for the information. :)

I work in Essen but live in Duesseldorf. And Cologne is not that far away either. So I will definitely check these places out.

Thanks again. If you ever need some good addresses in Tokyo, I can help!

    Welcome back, Maarten!
Yes I know well this shop and it is definitely a great one! I found in it the original version on 12" Elektra of Supermax's "African Blood", a very rare song from the tribal people!!! :)
Go there and I wish you a good hunting!
People all over the world, It\'s time for love & understanding, Come together!!
