Well, the title sums it up - the new film "Disco" is the biggest draw in France right now. Number One, massive success. Whether the pic is any good is another matter. Alors, votre reports, whatsit like, Mesdames et Monsieurs?
Here's the trailer. RevueDeBuzz - Disco avec Franck Dubosc La Bande annonce - Buzz et actualitι video en streaming
Looks like a French 'Full Monty' type of film. Didier Travolta....indeed!!!!
Like I already described it in the original thread on this new release:
http://www.discomusic.com/forums/dis...sco-movie.html
I haven't seen it and based on the trailers I will not even rent it. Sorry but this is the French "Full Monty" and I never understood why people liked that one so much! One of the worst movies the Britons ever made IMO.
If you really want to see a "good" nu Disco pic then buy or rent:

Blinkin' 'eck. We both thought (completely independently, as I never followed the original thread) that it's like a French Full Monty. AND we both think The Full Monty was a naff film.
Geez, at this rate we'll be Siamese twins soon.......... joined at the hip Siamese twins.:icon_lol::icon_lol:
Agreed Johan, Roll Bounce is good.
I still love the scene that featured the song, "I'm Your Boogie Man".:icon_biggrin:
Find them and destroy them!
Yes, it was very pleasant and although it's a 2007 release it's a movie that brings me in the right nostalgic mood. Thx for recommending it to me last year!
oh putain . . . This movie is officially released today in Canada, I'll let you know what I think of it very soon ;-)
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
Yes I'm curious to see this one too.
Franck Dubosc was all over the TV this past week and they even did a promo at the "premiere" in Montreal. Girls in cages and one of our local "dance" stations throwing a huge disco theme pow wow.
The TV spot features Donna Summer's Last Dance
The original soundtrack features Cerrone [a 2008 release called Laissez Toucher],The Jacksons,Boney M,Weather Girls,Gloria Gaynor,Tina Charles and Voyage as well.

Finally got some time to see this movie in original french language. I can't say I was delighted as much as when I saw "54" for the 1st time at the cinema, but this was just right to watch. Some of you may not like it at all. I give it a 3 over 5, I was expecting more.
If you buy this record your life, will be better.

Someone who saw it mentioned that the "story" got in the way of the music !!!

Oh really ??? So it's a not so new , new song !!!
I believe a few mixes are available on iTunes.
Your stint at RCA also gave us one of my all-time top 5 dance songs ever , Kristine W's Stand in love.
That song is superb...I have great memories of dancing to it in clubs in Montreal.
