    Please, help me to find the original

    Hi there , I 'm trying to find a song listen on
    the " New York Disco Machine" 's LP . The quotes are not casual, because this is a fake.
    In fact, there are a lot of...thefts:
    track 2 is a song of Caroline Bernier , only played faster;
    track 3 is a song of Eddie Drennon , played faster and horribly remixed;
    track 6 is a song of Universal Robot Band;
    track 4 maybe is a song of Le son of Quebec but i never have heard it.
    Someone knows who is the real performer of the track 5 , Give Me Love, the best song ?

    (Discosavvy tell that this song IS really of NYDM but I don't think so).
    Thank you for your help.

    There were a few Disco "cover bands", particularly in 1978. (I had the "Donna Summer Songbook" by Allison (somebody), and Studio 78's "Thanks God It's Friday". The remakes were pretty bad (except "I Feel Love" was kinda interesting in a stripped-down way. And altogether, not that bad.) and most of these cover-bands would include one original track on there LPs.

    I did a serious search and that "Give Me Love" track keeps coming-up as attributed to 'New York City Disco Machine' and noone else. (Except, of course, the Cerrone title shows-up.) And it appears that that it was the track-of-choice, off of that LP. 'Discosavvy' may well be correct.

    Thank you for your attention.
    First of all , sorry for my bad English.

    I think that you have listen the sample posted : if you note , the voice of the singers is quite alterate , a sign that this track is played a faster
    speed.
    The other songs are exactly equals to the originals except for the speed (and some cuts ) , that is , they aren't covers.

    You have mentioned that is possible to have just one original song for this, supposed, cover band : but why this track is not the number 1?

    I think that this LP is a bootleg , pressed in few copies , selled fast.
    After this , they are run away with the money:icon_smile:

    It is an intersting case and I want to discover if this is a fraud or not
    (and an historic false): someone has materially this LP ? It will be nice read the authors of the songs.

    The "GIVE ME LOVE" song you're looking for is by ELIO DANTE AND CASHMERE. It is a Canadian 12" on LONDON RECORDS from 1977.

    I own a copy of it, and listened to it before responding to your question.
    it's the instrumental version that is featured in your audio clip.

    there are a few copies on GEMM, if you're looking to buy the original 12"
