    Lisa Fischer Sighting!!!!

If you saw the Rolling Stones concert on HBO last night, you no doubt were thrilled by Miss Lisa Fischer's fabulous vocals on "Gimme Shelter" with Mick. She sang the part originally recorded by Merry Clayton on the "Let It Bleed" LP and Lisa was superb.

Lisa was mentioned here awhile ago by Nicky. She had a hit in the early 1990's with "How Can I Ease The Pain" and sang with Luther Vandross a lot. I hadn't heard of her in a long time....but now she's touring with the Rolling Stones!!!!

She looks terrific and if you don't care for the Stones, but want to catch her performance ...it's about 1 hour and 10 minutes into the concert. (The show started at 9:00PM and she was singing around 10:10 or so--after Keith Richards did a few numbers). Then Mick comes back and Miss Lisa is given a chance to really shine. :D

    Hey Little Bro,

Just to school ya and not rule ya :) , Lisa's been doing this for a while with them. One of the reason's (well, the main reason actually) I purchased the DVD of The Stones "Bridges to Babylon" tour was to have her performance of Gimme Shelter with Mick. She works hard for that money, baby. :D

So, again I ask, why do screaching, navel-baring, wanna-be-American-Idol-girls with limited talent and not much else get contracts while WOMEN-WITH-VOICE and possibly some class go unheard? Color me :-? and :( and  and

Oh Yeah - Lisa Fischer is a great vocalist.

I have her only album "So Intense" from 1991 and I did see her open for Luther when they were on tour over here in 1993.
At that time she had a minor single I think was called "Color Of love" - some sort of soundtrack ballad, I recall.

She's still doing background vocals for luther. To bad his music's not worth bothering about nowadays  but he still has excellent taste when picking musical partners

    K-Bee,

Since you have the '91 album, then you know the cut (track 1) titled "Save Me". Did you happen to get the 12" with the David Morales remix and, if so, what did you think?

I have the morales mix on an old tape but since I no more have a deck I can't play it. Never did get around to buy the 12" but morales did a great job and thats more than you can say about the stuff he's done recently

The mix is very similar to the did one he did for phil perry the same year (Amazing Love).

Marky, I saw Lisa Fischer doing that "Gimme shelter" bit in the Voodoo Lounge tour (1994). She was excellent, and also did some sexy dance number with ol' Mick (you know, for him to give the message "I'm 55 but still deliver!"). Certainly Mick did well, because he didn't leave Argentina without having a wild affair with a local model called Sol Acuña.
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)

    Hey Marky,

I saw Lisa with the mighty STONES in 1995, when I attended to the STONES's concert in RIO DE JANEIRO. She sang GIMME SHELTER with Mick and the crowd went crazy (myself included). Still the greatest show I ever saw, simply amazing! :D

You can find GIMME SHELTER with Lisa and Mick in NO SECURITY, a live album by THE STONES released a few years ago.

    Peace, Mr. Bush, PEACE!
