Thanks for posting it, again. I'd never seen it before. It's a bit laughable.

Dennis Parker was the heart-throb 'Detective Derek Mallory', on the soap opera "The Edge Of Night", for years. (Trust me, he's a LOT better looking than in that video!) A bunch of us bar-worker queens would get together and watch it, every afternoon, waiting for the Producers to take his shirt off.

There was quite the scandal when it came out that he passed away from AIDS. He was one of the early casualties (back when they thought you could catch it from doorknobs) and his female co-star was pretty panicked, due to their previous love scenes.

I always loved this track & it also demonstrates that the Cant Stop production team could be dark & moody when they wanted to be. When he sings high-pitched he sounds so like Patrick Juvet too! I wonder if Jacques Morali had one of those special microphones that made his artists all sound the same like StockAitkenWaterman had?:icon_confused:

Guaranteed to make your "S"s sound dirty and your "T"s distorted, everytime!

With all that technology, their stuff should've been the easiest for us editors to re-work. But noooooo! That microphone created so many studio-headaches for me.

P.S. I really liked "New York By Night" better than "Like An Eagle". The falsetto, after awhile, started to grate my nerves like nails on a chalkboard.

Yes 'NYBN' is very good too but the rest of his LP is not good IMO. 'I'm a Dancer/Why Dont You Boogie' has got to be a Village People reject.:icon_confused:

The album starts off great, but the quality drops with each track IMHO. By the end of side two, we're in Painfully Unlistenable territory.

Definitely! Like many disco LPs it's basically a 12" single with 2 or 3 'filler' tracks added & better packaging!

Really off topic... LOL. Al never appealed to me. Never understood what people saw in him, but a friend met him and said he was a really cool person.
