    Arrow Obama/Clinton OUT>Gore IN?

Looks like an early April's fools joke but the story is serious. The leadership of the Democratic Party and chairman Howard Dean are in close talks with Al Gore to persuade him to run for President.

The ongoing nasty battle between Obama and Clinton is considered as 1 big favor to John McClain. He will win according to many polls! A vast amount of Democrats doesn't want Obama, another significant part doesn't want Clinton so the road could be open for a consensus candidate: Al Gore.

The plan: a sort of "coup d'état" during the Democratic convention where people would persuade Obama to turn his votes over to Gore! It seems that this is possible according to party rules.

Of course they are trying to cash in on Gore's momentum following the ecological hype. And ol' Al apparently didn't say no!

    Will be continued....

    Johan,
Where did you hear that Dean was talking to Gore about being the Dem nominee?

    Paul,

I'm very surprised that a humble European knows this and that a true American doesn't :icon_lol: . It's true, it ain't no April Fool's joke.

That and the fact that Mme Clinton's campaign is almost bankrupt :icon_eek:

Do you think Al stands a chance against McCain (BTW, the ticket will be McCain/Romney)?

Gore has said he doesn't want the grief....he's got a Nobel prize, an Oscar, R-E-S-P-E-C-T....freedom to work on the things he wants to do...doesn't want to attempt to clean up Dubya's messes... a thankless job which I wouldn't wish on anyone. Obama is gonna get the Dem's nomination....what happens after that, I can't predict....but if Americans are hungering for another 4 years of Bush, by all means, vote for McBush.
