    Alright!!!

I love Tata Vega and can hardly wait for the interview reading. I remember they would play her 12" on Disco 94FM and when the song "Just Keep Thinking About You" played at the club, the cheers would come out. That was sometimes rare at the Disco here. I'm counting the days................

I dare you to ask her exactly what 'it' is that she wants us to 'get up for love'.

Thumbs up Re: Taking questions for my Interview with Tata Vega

.. hello Dayna .. you get all the best jobs .. here we go .. when Tata's albums were released on Motown in the 70s everyone said how remarkably similar she sounded to Chaka Khan ( she was often refered to as Motown's Chaka khan ) .. how did this make her feel? .. did it place additional pressure on her as a new artist? .. did she ever meet Chaka? .. how was Tata enrolled to the Motown roster in 1976? .. and why did 3 years elapse between her debut recording "Full speed ahead" & the release of her acclaimed hit single "Get it up for love"? .. did she meet or mix with any of the big Motown stars of the period? ( ie: Diana Ross, Jermain Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, the Supremes etc .. ) ..

.. thanks Dayna .. I look forward to the interview ..

    Ooo! Ooo! TaTa!

I've got no questions in mind. But please, oh please, let her know that Stephen L. is down on one knee, kissing her hand in gratitude for "Full Speed Ahead"!

I have the original promo, with The Originals' "Down To Love Town" on the flip. And guard it as a jewel in my collection. Shoulder to shoulder, with no room on the dancefloor... Whenever that song came on.

And summertime roller-skating in Central Park, with the boombox, while WKTU blared "Just Keep Thinkin' About Ya, Baby". Awesome, happy memories tied to TaTa's tracks.

Re: Taking questions for my Interview with Tata Vega

Miss Dayna-My favorite of many Tata songs is "Earth
is Calling".If there could only be some 9 minute mix
with some breaks and Tata's ad libs somewhere in
the vaults....Ask how she arranged her background
vocals for a track like "Earth..." the call and response
are all her! Tata always merged the gospel and the
disco together to make the dancefloor more soulful.
Ask her why Motown has never made any Tata compilations or greatest hits-is there any plans for
another label to highlight her Motown work?
    thankyou as always,Miss Dayna!

Dayna, could you ask her if she has ever heard David Cassidy's version of "Get It Up For Love" and what does she think of it. (This was the first version I ever knew of this song before I knew Tata had done it as well.)

Also ask her who influence her musically and what does she think of today's music. Does she have any favourite artists?

Re: Taking questions for my Interview with Tata Vega

Thanks for all the great questions..
I have my staple questions that I ask most artists..
That will cover your question about her influences and favorite artists CdnBob..
Stephen, I told her almost verbatim what you asked me to tell her directly from you..
Thom I asked her about Earth is Calling...
Ashley I mentioned Chaka and stated the fact that there have been statements made about the simularities in there voices.. but I wouldn't ask her if they met because You have to remember the Intervew is about her so to bring up Chaka more than once would be somewhat disrespectful to Tata.
and I always ask about the artists they work with and did mention some Motown Names"once".
SANDIE~!! lol I DID NOT ask her about gettin it up.. It's not like I'm interviewing one of my girls Like Taana , Loleatta ,Carol Douglas or Even Jody ..although even Loleatta would blush..
and Pepper..I most definately asked about "I Just Keep Thinkin About Ya Baby"
    xoxo

Am I the only one to hear Tata clearly sing on Mickael Jackson's "Wanna be startin' somethin'", even though she is not credited ??? :icon_mrgreen:

Re: Taking questions for my Interview with Tata Vega

Has the interview already taken place Dayna ?

I didn't really have a direct question , but my first memory of hearing Tata on a record was her guest-appearance with the track "Hanging Out at the Mall" from Bobby Nunn , recorded around 1983 on Motown .
Tata plays the fictional-role of Bobby's mother .
The story in the song goes that Bobby is not allowed by his mom to hang out at the mall with his friends , but is eventually caught over there by her. Tata plays her role fierce and goes bananas when she lections Bobby , lol .
I imagine she must have had a ball at that recording-session .

Greetz and have fun meeting Tata !

This interview was a Q and A..It gives the artist the ability to really write in their own words a detailed answer..Although I do like one on one's as well..and Try my best to give the info as verbatim as possible.
I submitted my questions to Tata about 2 weeks ago..
I haven't heard anything back yet..Although she said "that she would LOVE to do the interview"..Since then I have attempted to contact her without any responses..Sometimes an artist promises to do something and doesn't deliver ,but in my experience I have only had that happen with male artists .
I will give it awhile longer..She could still pull through.
