Oh yeah. Daddy Gooding can truly say "Sho' me tha money" to his Hollywod son
I recently found an LP from 1979 on Motown by Cuba Gooding called 'Love Dancer' & its very good, especially the 'Disco Royale' opening track. It's produced & some of it written by Micheal Lovesmith who I think is a very under-rated Motown act but that's another story...
I was previously only aware of Cuba's stuff with the Main Ingredient & his 'Love Is Just Around The Bend' track from 1983 (what a classic that is!). Is anyone aware of any other disco-type stuff that Cuba did. I assume he's the father of the Hollywood actor C.G.Junior; they certainly look alike (& very attractive they are too!).
...ya gotta beat the street......
Oh yeah. Daddy Gooding can truly say "Sho' me tha money" to his Hollywod son
Daddy Gooding DID come crawling back to the son & wife he had earlier abandoned..... AFTER Cuba won his Oscar. I think Daddy & Moms even reunited as a couple.
There was some bitterness between father & son, needless to say.

I've always like the 1974 version of "Happiness Is Just Around the Bend" by Main Ingredient from their Euphrates River lp. Which do you prefer? The '83 version is good, I mean Cuba's still wailing, but the '74 version soooo smooth. :)

By far, the original version!!!!Originally Written by NickNack
If I remember correctly the ’83 version of ‘Happiness’ was released on 12” with a picture cover, I could never play it much cause at the time ‘break dancing’ and ‘freestyle’ ruled my area, but the original ’74 version is IMO the best, this long version is also available in the “best Of “ LP.
