Hey all,
Looking for an old rollerskating song that had the lyrics "Dance, Rock, Freak.... Skate, Dance, clap your hands..."
That's all I can remember about it.... song was played at SirSkate in Altoona, PA.
Any ideas??? Been looking for this song for years....
Thanks all!

Sixty minutes is nothing special (but it\'s all the world to me)
I THINK ITS VAUGHN MASON & CREW:icon_cool:
Well, I gave it a listen (thanks for the link!)... that, unfortunately, it not it. I'm pretty sure the lyrics I have quoted was what was actually sung..... not just a part of it.
I do appreciate the effort, tho...!!! Maybe someday this rascal of a song will present itself.
Did it include the catch phrase"I love New York" a few times over after the words Dance,Rock Freak? The "Clap Your Hands" part might have been the additive from The Fun House Mixes. I'm pretty sure this is the song your looking for but i can't think of the name as i review it in my mind.I do however have the song somewhere on a tape.
Hey Russ,
Wow, thanks for looking... I noticed this was quite an old thread. I don't recall anything about NY, but it being sooo long ago, it's hard to tell.... If you get a moment, could you post something on youtube and give me a link so I can give it a listen???? Thanks man..... Craig
Hey Craig,i'm as baffled as you are. I have no idea who the artist is,or the name of the song.In the early 70's i use to record studio mixes from the radio when they had well known dj's on.Can you give any other info about the song? I only remember it being sung by a women, with backround vocals with other women. Can't say for sure if it was a solo artist or a group. Not 100% on the words, maybe something like....Dance,Rock,either Shake or Skate? Freak, something about "moving your body to the beat",then came in at least twice"I love New York".So if i had to make a guess it would go something like this........
Dance,Rock,Shake,Freak.Move your body to the beat.I love New York,I love New York.I have about 30 cassette tapes mostly from the 70's music era.See if by chance i can find this song.
sounds almost like the early Gap Band single Steppin' (Out) ??
".. dancing is the only way .."
