a little musical help??

Hi,
I was wondering if I could get any tips on what to listen to??
I have a huge gap of soul/disco/funk/70s pop in my life. I wouldn't know where to start. I do know a little grace jones stuff like 'pull up to the bumper' and 'feel up'. I also like songs like 'love roller coaster' and 'lets groove'- but i need some help.
Can anyone give me some places to start- i will read this forum as well to see what I can find.
