Move Out, Don’t Mess Around: Yaz Are Touring America
March 6th, 2008 | 1:22 pm est | David Jeffries
Synth-pop fans should brace yourselves, because what you’re about to read is going to make you fall backwards, knocking over all your Book of Love and Propaganda CDs. After 23 years apart, vocalist Alison Moyet and synth-wizard Vince Clarke are reuniting as Yaz — or Yazoo if you’re outside the States — and are touring not only in Europe, but also in America for six shows come this July. All of this is happening in celebration of their new 4-disc box set In Your Room, which will arrive in May of this year. The box will include remasters and 5.1 mixes of both Yaz albums along with a CD of rarities, plus a DVD featuring all their videos and a new documentary.

I've always been a big Yaz fan ("State Farm" and "Only You" being my favorites) but have to admit I've found these synth duos not exactly stimulating to watch for more than one video or two. And how about the fact that now there's a birth control pill with the same name?
Big fan of Yazoo (Situation and Dont go are two of my favourite 8o's synth dance tracks). Luckily they are performing 10minutes from where I live.
Cant find details of the extra tracks on the box set though.
I would imagine that the venue's they pick for this tour would not be one's where you would sit and watch, but would have a pit or standing arena for dancing and moving. I know I can't sit down when I hear Yaz.
And they have made a big impression on dance music. Not only are they remixed every few years, but they are one of the most sampled sounds out there.
I am finding that online right now. The one that does have floor room is in New York City, but the reviews on that venue(Terminal 5) are awful.

Mmmmm? What a sticky Situation. Should I go or Don't Go?
