Tina Charles
Last year Dayna asked me if I would like to interview Tina Charles. Being a big fan I said yes and e-mailed her a few questions, but never heard back from her until today! So here it is, my mini-interview with Tina Charles...

Nice interview Bernie, I love to love Tina, some much memories and good times can be linked to her music.
She will be 54 (like the studio) next monday the 10th, happy birthday Tina ;-)
I've just listened to her early "Blame it on the boogie" on iTunes, this is still a seller for sure in 2008, I actually prefer this version.![]()
If you buy this record your life, will be better.
Thank you Bernie.
Working with Biddu, WOW! She sure comes off as sweet as her music. I will be sure to add her version of I'll go where your music takes me to this saturdays set. The hustlers seem to float just a little bit higher off the dance floor when Tina is singing. :icon_biggrin:
Disco Lives in L.A!!!
I'd wondered why the single of "I'm On Fire" had a different vocalist than the LP. Now I know and I'm glad that Tina never identified herself with any particular group. Admittedly, my favorite is a treasured promo 12" of "You Set My Heart On Fire." But "Love Bug" is a close 2nd!![]()

That means she's a sensitive Piscean & explains why she got so upset when Simon Le Bon (the 'singer' in Duran Duran) slagged off a record of hers on a radio review show.Poor Tina, she seems so sweet; I had the great pleasure of seeing her perform live at a gay club here in Manchester 15 years ago & she was fabulous; good things do come in small packages!

...ya gotta beat the street......
I'm under orders to like Tina 'cos my wife's favourite early Disco track is..... I Love To Love. One of a very few records that she'd ever dance to.
I Love To Love broke the mould to some extent, as it was one of the very first UK produced Disco records to sound totally American. Must say, I thought the 86 remix of ILTL was pretty good too. The sheer power of her voice can be judged by the distortion on her vocals at times.
SAN SAID - I had the great pleasure of ....at a gay club here in Manchester 15 years ago & ..... good things do come in small packages
There is always someone to lower the tone :icon_eek:
What were you doing in a gay club looking at packages :icon_lol:
