Smile Hercules & Love Affair "Blind" (new disco)

.. I should bring everyone's attention to a new dance record called "Blind" by Hercules & Love Affair .. the tune is straight out of New York with a blinding remix from Frankie Knuckles .. it's getting much hype in the music industry, being described by many as traditional disco .. give it a listen .. it's suprisingly good .. listen to the sound-clip on the Juno site:
    HERCULES & LOVE AFFAIR - Blind MP3
.. before buying it on Amazon:

That voice leaves a bit to be desired, but I do like the tune. Nice groove. I don't think I'd say it has a traditional disco sound, but the bass line sure is a throw-back. I especially like the vocal-mix. Nice to hear horns again! Now, just get some lush strings, substitute a hot, black female vocal (or male, ala Sylvester) and you'd have a first-class winner!

Agree - this is great and the Frankie Knuckles remix is stellar! I hope this is Frankie's return to remixing form like his early 90s stuff.
The album is a grower though - quite a unique sound.

Antony Hegarty, (of Antony & the Johnsons) vocals is one of the primary reasons this record was special in the first place. He is one of the most interesting and dynamic performers to come around in years.

I'd have to agree that it is one of Frankie Knuckles best mixes in 15 years. In Europe Blind went on to become a huge pop hit too.
