Does anyone know when Continental Square Dance was originally released? I bought a CD reissue of his Salsoul record from '74 and it was included as the last song on the CD, but I've recently discovered that the original LP didn't have that track. So where was it taken from? I've gotten really into the song since coming across the Anvil Band record, which has a number of instrumental mixes of what I think were Salsoul label projects that were left in the can, including some Joe Bataan songs that sound similar to Continental Square Dance (the instr. mix of that track is on the Anvil Band LP).

I'm guessing that tracks like The Tunnel, Begin The Beguine and Samba were recorded in the same sessions as Continental Square Dance with New York session musicians. The only Salsoul LPs I know of that he put out in the mid 70s were Salsoul from '74 and Afrofilipino from '75, and neither LPs contained CSD, The Tunnel, etc...

Any information on at least the origins of Continental Square Dance would be appreciated.
