.. I've just discovered a new CD from France on the Warner / Rhino label .. it's a compilation by Sheila B.Devotion called "The Disco Singles" .. don't bother with the single disc release (in the blue / purple cover) .. instead look for the limited edition, but slightly more expensive, double disc release in the yellow / orange cover .. it's disc 2 that is most interesting as it contains a new 12 minute remix of "Spacer" which remains very faithful to the original, so won't disappoint anybody here .. together with the Leo Raponi remix of "Spacer" from about 10 years ago (which is basically a hi-energy house mix .. but don't despair .. it builds quite well .. the last couple of minutes sound superb) .. plus you get the original full length extended 12" mixes of "Spacer", "Singing in the rain", "Shake me" & "Love me baby" .. and a recently recorded & rather telling disco medley featuring "It's raining men", "Enough is enough", "Never can say goodbye" & "Can't take my eyes off you" .. which probably means poor Sheila spent the last 30 years dragging this rather tired collection of songs round the holiday camps of Europe .. the things we do for love ..![]()
I am a bit confused here.
This is what is listed (but not available at this time) through Amazon:
Amazon.com: Disco Singles: Music: Sheila & B. Devotion
There is no track description but the jacket says: "16 tracks - long versions".
Is this the right one?
If not, can you please provide the CD number?
- Marcus

YouTube - Sheila & B.Devotion - Spacer (The Freak Out Remix Edit)
Link to an edited version of the 12min mix on You Tube. Hope it works
OMG, have u seen the clip for 'King Of The World' when the backing tape breaks down on a French TV show? :icon_confused: Sheila's such a pro!:icon_razz:
...ya gotta beat the street......
I reckon SPACER's one of the finest Disco 12s ever (mine's on Carrere) - Euro / Chic / nice lightweight singing.
Ideal for dancing (not that I was either very good or did much dancing:icon_mrgreen:) - I've had to digitise my copy, simply so I can listen in the car:icon_confused::icon_confused:
Well that's my first post over and done with...:icon_biggrin:
In love or in sympathy with someone. Having a party fun or fκte then rush for a Halagala record. Yes! It's RAM! RAM! RAM! GO! MAN - GO!

Great great track! Is there anyone who could point me to a legal download of the 12 minute mix- or even the edited one on YouTube?
Can I save audio from Youtube?
I need this real bad.
.. hello dbmc .. why not just purchase the CD? .. in addition to "Spacer" the original versions of "Shake me" & "Move it" are essential for disco lovers .. they are 2 of the best pieces of euro-disco ( if you like "Fly robin fly" or "Daddy Kool" you will love these ) .. buy it mate .. besides, Sheila needs the royalties .. :icon_razz:
OK - Just got this and the new mix of Spacer is 12 minutes and 7 seconds of bliss. The gorgeous piano intro, dubby guitar at 7.01, the flangey effect at 9.30...just brilliant.
Just love "Spacer" tune....
ironically here in US this is probably the least known of Chic productions, but to me one of the best, if not the best :icon_cool:
