Re: In 50 years, who will be remembered from the disco era and why?
Okay, we may hear "Ring my Bell", "Disco Duck" and alot of different artist and songs from the Disco Era from the 70's but one that I feel will stand out in the year 2058 is Ms. Donna Summer. Yes, we ALL talk about our favorites today from yesterday but what will our great grand children be asking and talking about? My very first hardcore sound of Disco came from Donna Summers Love Trilogy. While everyone was talking about the SNF and Bee Gee's sound (Which i liked) I was listening to Ms. Summers records. I remember seeing her on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson talking about her Live and More album. And when Bad Girls and On the Radio albums came out I was like well, a , well, I cant even explain it. Donna Summer was the most important Disco artist in our era. I know some will argue but that's cool. I really cant appreciate Love and Kisses or Diana Ross and Chic like i appreciate Donna. But i guess Chic will be # 2 on the list. I feel like Disco music will be probably be novelty songs in another 50 years but I feel Donnas music will stand up to time. (Minus Enough is Enough)
