Yes, Disco is back in the West End of London with the launch of Strut. A monthly celebration of 70's & 80's Disco & Funk. We have a fantastic line up of DJ's for our inaugrual night. DJ's include Paul Philips of Solar Radio, Ian Dewhirst of Mastercuts fame, Simon M and Ian Wright.

£3 on the door before 9pm and £5 thereafter. 2 drinks for the price of one at the bar until 9.30pm and the evening goes on till 2am. This all takes place at the famous Corks, 28 Binney Street, London W1 (opposite Selfridges) on Friday 1st February.

Well I think it went well. We had at its zenith about 270 people in there. About 300 in & out through the evening. As it was the launch night we had a lot of DJ's doing one & a quarter hour sets, which in hindsight was not the best thing. The music was mixed and different, however the best sets in my humble opinion came from Paul Philips & Ian Dewhirst. The owner of the venue was delighted - I did notice a few people who had had a 'few too many' by midnight, so much so that she has agreed to fund a radio advertisement for our next night on Friday 15th February. It will be different, myself and Paul will cover the evening playing disco. I'll keep it fairly commercial to start and let Paul play the rarer underground stuff!

Overall a good night, I think people enjoyed themselves and hopefully they'll come back next time.

Following last Friday's Strut with Soul-Unique's Master J we do it ll over again on Friday 2nd May. In the house we have The Legendary Paul "Trouble" Anderson playing disco! Anyone familiar with the London dance music scene will know Paul and his long and distinguished career! He will be joining me and Paul as residents of what is swiftly becoming established the place with the West End to come and enjoy 70's Disco!!

So if you are in London, are coming to London, want to come to London and need an excuse, can't afford to come to London but thinking what the hell, then come...it is going to be a wicked night!

Friday 1st August brings the return of Strut to Corks at 28 Binney Street London W1 opposite Selfridges – where we bring the disco back to the West End – alongside hosts – The Legendary Paul ‘Trouble’ Anderson, UnknownFMs RetroRuss and Paul ‘Deep Fried’ Leney we welcome DJ Koal of Sneakers 54, playing some out of this world jazz funk - it all kicks off at 7pm and it’s £3 before 9pm, £5 thereafter – with drinks 2 for the price of 1 until 9pm.
