Help me with a disco song.

I don't know much about it, although a black woman (I think) sings it with backup from men and (?) women.

My g/f and I heard it while we were watching an episode of The Gong Show (it was on the show) and she liked the song, and she wanted me to find out who it was. The show aired in like 1977

The song goes something like this: (it starts with those funky beats

    The Look of Love
    Is in my eyes
Won't you come a little closer
    YADA YADA YADA

    YADA YADA YADA YADA
You gotta get em now that (s)he's gone
We're both sitting her all alone
When we oughta be gettin' it on

The songs becomes more up tempo at this point

    You - Love - Me
OOOH Tell 'em about it Joe (Jones?)

    Love - and - Harmony
    OOOOOOOOH
    You - love - me
    Love and Harmony

I can feel it in my bones....

    yada yada yada

and that is all I know.

This seems like a hard one. I already know I won't get a lot of answers on this one.

    Thanks in advance.

    Ah, this is a classic.

"You + Me = Love" by Undisputed Truth (lead vocal by Taka Boom, Chaka Khan's sister; written & produced by Norman Whitfield).

    markydefad,

    Thanks a bunch!

But I can't seem to find a sample of the song.

I checked Amazon (CD Now would have been perfect, but they are merged with the crappy amazon chain) and they only have one Undisputed Truth cd and the song isn't on it. I even check a few mp3 sites (kazaa etc.) but nothing.

    Any suggestions?

Well, Undisputed Truth left Motown to record for Whitfield Records, by this time. So this song is not on any of the group compilations...BUT I did find it recently on something called, hmmmm....was it "Disco Connection"???? I'm at work, so I can't check...but this has been discussed here recently. Bernie should know.

Anyway, the full 11+ minute version is on a CD (might be an import). I found it here in LA, a few months ago.

This is the CD Marky's talking about. It has the full 12" version of You + Me = Love.
