Top 20 Disco Import with Tony Prince

Hello there,
I'm back with the new year (HNY to everybody) and a new question for you my friends....
I found a note from back 1980 about a track i used to love. All i know is that it was number one in the April (1980) chart Top 20 Disco Import as played on Radio Luxembourg (Groove Chart with Tony Prince?).
The title sound something like "Freak you baby". I know it can be anything from "Freak to Freak by the Sweat Band" to "Freakin Time by The Asphalt Jungle". Can anybody help me or does anybody have any copy of the Groove chart mentioned above?

Hello there , i understand your frustration, The way to narrow it down is to find some 1980 copies of Blues and Soul, I have a few and notice the city slickers charts are every other week at the back of the magazine, These were definitey the tracks Tony Prince used to play on his show, I remember well as i checked the charts and taped a show once with the tracks most of them were on this chart, E.G, at the time get crackin , kat mandu ,reddings ,on the one, There is one track on this show i am after its something like .something that you got , Its a real funker, if you know it help me. anyway good luck finding it .do you remember when your too late, by Fantasy was the soul choice for ages.

If it's not Asphalt jungle then dance freak by Chain reaction would be my guess for april 1980 as Sweat band wasn't released till later on that year

Sharmir, you seem to know your stuff , do yoou remeber a record later on that year , a real funker ,the hook on it it was , something that you got ,around the time of get crackin kat mandu and the reddings awaking and billy frazier i think it was coming up to christmas . it had a real funky base and cutting keyboards.:icon_smile:

Thanks for reply . it was male vocals thats all i remember .it was not a track i saw anywhere in the shops . it probably never got a British release. I taped the show and remember all the other songs but this one Tony Prince gave no intro. .Thanks anyway for your reply ,SOSMAN0

You could be in luck! El Coco had a track out towards the end of 1980 early 81 called "Something You got makes me hot" from the lp revolucion. Could this be the one?!!

by the end of 81 I was a regular listener and taper on music casettes of many radio lux charts.
I liked most the top 20 disco imports pres. in most of the shows by Tony Prince.
I have almost every show on tape and every chart list til the show was stopped (I remember that was in 83 or 84).
Later it was named Disco Mix Club (where they only played new entries and did not even give a total rundown of all 20 tracks, but mentioned the top 10 and flipped from UK Top 30 Disco charts to 20 Dicso Import charts,
but that was off cause a very sad design of the show incl. a lot of missing infos.
