Yes, Prince is a Jehovah's Witness since a few years now. And yes he sometimes goes from door to door to sell their books (in a limo with a small army of bodyguards). And yes, after his concert series last August in London he has retired for a few months to attend bible classes.

And yes, "The Rainbow Children" has Jehovah written all over it. And if you listen carefully to the track "Get On The Boat" that's featured on the 3121 album it clearly says:

"Get on the boat, people
Get on the boat now
We got room 4 a hundred more"

The Jehovah's witnesses do believe that 144,000 people will receive immortal life in heaven as co-rulers with Christ, ruling over the rest of mankind during the Millennial Reign. Witnesses believe that during the imminent war of Armageddon, the wicked will be destroyed, and survivors, along with millions of others who will be resurrected, will form a new earthly society ruled by a heavenly government and have the possibility of living forever in an earthly paradise.

How come? It dates from the time when Larry Graham joined the NPG and Larry is a Jehovah's witness too although other rumors state that he wanted to fulfill his late mother's wish!

Yes and no, the sex is still there. It was pretty absent on "The Rainbow Children" and "Musicology" but it returned on "3121". He became less explicit and more playful! I don't think he plays stuff like "Darling Nikki" anymore!

But then again, Prince always had that bizarre mix of religion and sex. It came out on the album "Controversy" where "Annie Christian" is followed by "Jack U Off". It was not explicit on "1999" and "Purple Rain" but was relaunched on "Around the world in a day", especially on "Temptation". And it exploded on "Lovesexy" which is his ultimate religious experience. If you ever have seen him perform "Anna Stesia" live, you know what I'm talking about.

PRINCE A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS? Wow, hes someone I wouldnt think could fit in a organization full of so many rules. I knew a girl in my neighborhood (growing up) who was from a Witness family; I felt sorry for her. She couldnt celebrate Christmas; Birthdays; and even EASTER! Gosh, what would anyone (who claims to love Jesus) see wrong with such holidays. I KNOW they claim their not AUTHENTIC birth and crucifixion days (claiming their pagan days). How would they know, The Witnesses didnt even come into being until the 19th century! I'm Catholic, which takes its written history all the way back 2000 years. SORRY no offense to anyone in here; just rambling to make a point about their 'rules based living' which definately seems TOTALLY CONTRARY to Prince. However, everyone changes with age. INTERESTING INFO though; thanks!

Birthdays

A few years ago Prince performed on a Dutch television show and he gave a short interview 2gether with Larry Graham who was in his band in those days and there he clearly stated: "How can you celebrate birthdays? You only have 1 birthday and that's the day you were born!" And that's indeed the Jehova doctrine. So it's really true!
