    Dead Disco Audience

I just saw some video clips from a European show called Disco.
Silver Convention were on, the audience just sat there.
Was this the thing to do back then, there were dead pan looks on there faces.
Was it a european thing or a white thing?, it just looked weird.:icon_eek:

That's typical for the show "Disco" that was broadcasted originally by ZDF, the second German television station. It was presented by Ilja Richter and was a mix of comedy clips and live performances (not always Disco artists BTW).

The show was immensely popular and was one of the only European shows, together with "Musikladen", BITD that had the big stars live on stage. Remember, we didn't have Soul Train or "Soap Factory" or "Midnight Special". This was our Saturday Night television rendez-vous and we loved it. I think it was on at six o' clock in the evening.

But the audience always sat there like that, they were not moving or cheering, they just sat. I don't know, maybe they were ordered to sit still????

This is the most vivid the public was allowed to get. BTW, this song (Michael Holm: "Mendocino") is a Giorgio Moroder production!
