It's almost 1 year now that the hardest working man in showbusiness left us and that's why I'm posting this little tribute!
The Godfather of Soul, Funk, R&B and Disco! Soul Brother Number 1! The Emperor of the groove!
Where Iz Mozes? Roll Over Beethoven!
Thx Dayna, you know the 4th one enchants me, Mister Brown, Il Maestro Pavarotti, just so divine!
That's what gets the world going: Peace, Unity, Love and Having Fun!
yeah man!that's what i was thinkin about all theese days...and specially yesterday, christmas day, what a fatidic date a year ago...still can't believe he died that fast! and never could see him live. maybe not the best person in the world...but THE GODFATHER! don't need to say nothin more!
R.I.P. Mr. Dynamite!
YouTube - JAMES BROWN Soulful Christmas
It's so hard to believe it's already been a year since the godfather's passing. Well, if there ever was a good day to die, Christmas certainly is the day, although it makes for a crappy day for the people who you are survived by.
Disco Funk

I'm driving back from Fresno the other night ....listening to a radio station that broadcasts out of Berkeley and simulcasts in Fresno and they were going on about a petition to get a James Brown holiday ???
Anyway they played amongst other things ... this, and when played loud in the wee hours ..... wow !!!
:icon_biggrin::icon_biggrin:
mustn't embed :icon_evil: ....mustn't share music !!! :icon_evil:
here's the youtube link
Will say this ... James Brown understood well that getting into the groove ....feeling the groove ....is a venture that cannot be fully reached as a three minute enterprise !
...the further along you listen to this, the more it takes you in :icon_cool: :icon_biggrin:
I'm thinking .... might mix well into Fantastic Four's GOT TO HAVE YOUR LOVE

Baby, take me
high upon a hillside
high up where the stallion
meets the sun
Mr. Dynamite just had a birthday on May 3rd. He would've been 76 if he were still with us....R.I.P. My best memories of him are during the '64 - '68 period, when he still had his 21 piece Orchestra, along with The Famous Flames backing him up on the vocals, The Dancing Girls, his Enormous Pompador hairstyle that sometimes hung over his eyes, and the lines to his shows that used to wrap around the block!!! I remember my mother taking me to a show that he did back in '66 at the FOX Theatre in Brooklyn, NY. It's not there any more, but for a 6 year kid back then, it's definately left a lasting impression on me to this day, and to lots of other people who've witnessed James Brown when he was in his PRIME!!!
Soul Brother #1 may not have been the greatest Singer in the world, but he was definately the Greatest Performer in the world, if not of all times!!! He just had that SOMETHING that makes people feel good, and pay attention to him. His music reaches so far down into you that, you would dance better than you've ever danced to any other record before!!! And here we are 40 some-odd years later, still Getting Down to THE MAN'S music!!! He's timeless!!!JB has to be the most Sampled Artist in the Universe!!! And believe it or not, when I watch TV commercials, or listen to other Cats on the radio, I hear bits and pieces of Mr. Brown's material in them!!! He is definately: THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME..............next to ALI!!!
If you guys get the chance, go to Yahoo and click on: VIDEOS, type in his name, & click on VIDEO SEARCH. Then you'll be able to check out Mr. Dynamite back in that Glorious 60's Period when he was REALLY doing his thing!!!
