I've got a greatest hits CD comp (there are many!) of the diva's Motown stuff & there are 3 tracks that, according to the CD info, are from 1986 & aren't on any of her 4 Motown LPs. They're not on any of her Epic/Sony LPs either. Seeing as how she left Motown in '81/'82 were they possibly contractual items? As they are from '86 I don't suppose they were tracks that got rejected from her Motown LPs. The tracks are: Why Cant I Get Next To You, Co-Pilot To Pilot & Love Just Wouldn't Be Right. :icon_confused: Can any kindly soul shed some light onto this pour moi?
Oh & while I'm on this topic why is it that all of her Motown LPs are avilable on CD except 'Lady T' which contained her biggest hit (in the UK anyway); it doesn't make sense.:icon_confused:![]()

"Why can't I get next to you" and "Co pilot to pilot" or from Lady T which was issued as a CD early on. It's the only release that I do not have and is subsequently out of print. I believe Hipo-select is planning to reissue it like they did Wild and Peacefu, her debut. I've heard snippets from Lady T and decided against forking over $100+ for it as the better tracks were all on compilations I already had.
"Love just wouldn't be right" I haven't heard of beforebut there was some unreleased material issued on I need your lovin: Best of compilaion from 1994 but nothing with that title on it.
BTW what would be Teena's greatest hits?
The only track I remember hearing in disco clubs was "Square Biz" (which was very good).
It don't mean a thing (if ain't got that swing)
Her biggest hit here in the UK must be 'Behind The Groove' which crossed over to the pop charts in a big way (top 10) but others that made a smaller dent on the charts were 'I Need Your Lovin' (later covered by Curiosity Killed The Cat), 'It Must Be Magic' & 'Im Just A Sucker For Your Love'. Also, in the UK 'Portugese Love' wasn't a hit but had a HUGE following with soul & jazz fans.
