It's getting to that time of the year and I thought as a bit of fun we could each nominate 1 track for next Christmas's hottest party album. One track that defines Disco and Party. One track that if your life depended on it.....you'd come out the other end smiling.:icon_lol:
I'll kick things off with (drum roll please)...
Blue Rondo A La Turk - Me & Mr. Sanchez (instrumental)
http://www.zshare.net/audio/553362728f0427/
This track NEVER failed to whip up a crowd or turn boring grey people into screaming, whooping, hollering party animals (and I'd hope it still would).

I nominate........
YouTube - Lorraine Johnson - Feed The Flame (1978) DISCO
Thanks for your invitation. Just came by to let you know I'll bring this record to the party and I want to introduce my good friend Lola, who will come with me. But, please, Stevie, do you promise me you won't ask her to act her chronological age?!
I'll give you one guess Quinny:icon_lol:
YouTube - El Coco - Cocomotion - Part I and II (1977)
Find them and destroy them!

"The Problem is....Choice."
Just when you thought German disco was all about Silver Convention, Penny McLean and then-Fraulein MusicLand Studios, Miss Adrian Gaines herself...
Marianne Rosenberg's sublime Ich Bin Wie Du.
"Everyone knows the real reason why you got that part it was the time you spent on that casting couch"--Antoine Merriwether
"Excuse me, Miss Thing, but both of us spent time on that couch"--Blaine Edwards
"Keep On Rolling (Disco Train)" by Ujima has got to feature in there. Everyone who gets to hear it gets hooked, it transcendents taste barriers. Think a speeded up "Express" by B T Express with a New York state of mind, lots of chanting of "Ujima! Ujima!" in unision over a killer bassline, only 4 minutes long but what a trip. This is the ticket.
Good choices so far...here's mine!
and thanks to Videoskooter for showing me how!

it's "GALAXY OF LOVE" by THE CROWN HEIGHTS AFFAIR for my pick.
Well I know it's overplayed & lots of people here hate it (& it's not a particular favourite of mine though I don't hate it) you have to admit that you simply cannot beat YMCA by VP for getting people in the party mood. It's just a fantastic party record.:icon_razz:
...ya gotta beat the street......
"KEEP ON JUMPIN'" by Musique. Gets my blood pumping.
You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) by Sylvester. YouTube - You Make Me Feel(Mighty Real) Sylvester 12''

Different eyes see different things. Different hearts beat on different strings. But there are times for you and me when all such things agree...Rush
